Processing Relays

A method for processing relays as reported by Robin Strain.

Condes

Export xml
Omit course id ticked
Other three boxes unticked

OS2003

Results
Spilt times by course
Export csv

Routegadget

Course setting with no forking
By course
Create individual using SIcsv

RG reports all controls are entered but there appear to be no courses

Position controls as normal

The course to course matching is different from normal.
All I had to do was to set the finish
RG seems to offer a sample of the runners. They were all fine so I said
“Valmis” (next?)

Comments or questions

Hello,

Cloud you please send me (mikhail.senin(at)gmail.com) an example of SI csv file with relay data?

I’m trying to add relay results to RG, but my initial data to in SI csv format.

So I want to convert my data to SI csv and than load it into RG.

Thanks,
Mikahil Senin

There are many problems with relays and some depend on the results software.
The example above uses a similar method that you would use for a score event and RouteGadget creates a course for every competitor based on the controls they visited.

This requires that the results export contains the control numbers with the splits. The downside with this method is that you can’t compare with people on the same course unless you know who they were.

The method I have used more recently is to treat each set of gaffled courses as a single course (AAA,ABC,ABA etc.)
Then you just process it as a standard event.

To the best of my knowledge with SPORTident it is not possible to include the gaffles in one course and show the variations as part of one course. I think it is possible with one of the Emit results applications though.
