Can I install it on my website?
To install RG on your club website you need to be able to run CGI scripts on the server and FTP files to your server.
It is easier to setup if the server is running on Linux rather than Windows. RouteGadget is written in Java and needs Java to be installed on the visitor’s computer to work, 95% of home computers have it but some corporate networks may not.
All uploading of event data is done from your web browser, so no special software is needed after installation.
You need to make sure that you have enough bandwidth to cope with the heavy use after a large event (South Ribble’s Whitbarrow event had 342 routes posted and used 800MB of bandwidth in the first few days).
Download the installation files from the developers website.
You can also download my guide that takes you through the whole process:

If you can’t do the above, then contact me to arrange an account on RouteGadget UK.

Comments or questions
I want put Event Relay to our RG (www.orienteering.md)
And I need Split-file in format XML Relay. But I don’t know this format.
Do you have example split-file in this format XML Relay (Viesti)?
Thank you
I don’t think that we use that format in the UK.
Relays can be set up in so many ways and also depending on the course planning software used.
Look at the item titled “Processing Relays” for some more info.
